Digital Imagery - Color and Form (Using Photoshop Suit)

Digital Imagery

With the help of Digital Cameras and Photoshop Suit, my students create great art pieces, demonstrating excellent use of the program and using to the max the photos taken with a very regular camera.

We are looking at:
  Direccion
  Depth
  Repetition
  Contrast
  Form
  Color
  Use of the Space

Students are to be aware and understand:
  Pixels (pictures elements)
  Color Gradation
  RGB
  Dimensions (expressed by pixels)
  Resolution (PPI - Printing good)

Students study and applied depth - perceiving these depths through shapes in order to keep viewers vision active. Seeing means grasping some outstanding features of objects,
like; the color of the sky, the curve of the long tree, the rectangularity of the object to the right, and so on.

Depth comes from the correct use of the Principals of Art and Design. Through the manipulation of size, hue, focal points, gravity, hierarchy, and repetition. Now, the clever part here is to be completely aware of the space, an electronic flat space has really different characters than a piece of paper.

Visual Solutions can be "practical" or "pragmatical" and in the majority of the cases, the good cases, you have both working sides by side.

The cameras were quite simple, although the picture has to be adequate for the task in mind, the manipulation has to happen by the correct use of the program.

The Color and Shapes
Expanding space in the search for depth

Students learn to use form and color
creating contrast and the power of the lines
in order to create an imaginary 3D art piece

Images are to be clean,
balance with or without asymmetrical precision.
Controlling the chaos and inviting the viewer to the story.

A Look at My Students Notes

A Look at my student's Notes This is a place where students pause, to attend, to perceive, and to explore. I used to grade with great care my student's notes. They let me see their presence,   they showed they had discovered  a new world a new way.  Students already following a dream.  They were not passive learners anymore,  they open to the world thousand of possibilities were given consideration and more. A behavioral neuroscience study conducted by researchers at the University of California and Princeton University published in 2014 showed that students who take notes write thoughts, and sketch ideas by hand perform better with conceptual questions, and increased problem-solving,  than other people who don’t record notes or sketch ideas.  According to the study, one explanation for this exciting discovery is that writing, drawing, doodle with pencil and paper allows people to summarize...

Encounters with Understanding - Why Art inThe Classroom

The Crazy Little Bird - Student's work 1st Grade Students Shapes and Colors Encounters With Understanding The labor of a teaching artist is quite amazing, the feeling of   accomplishment when observing students engaged and living the experience is unforgettable and indescribable.  Those days when pupils rejoice in colors, the extravagance of imagination, and the exercise of creation within the arts, the science of making things for the pleasure of doing it and succeeding are full of un-measurable and accelerating happiness and satisfaction. The importance and the value here is that schools and their staff are in complete awareness of the gains and the significance of these quality experiences.  Students are in need of this kind of support and understanding. Moreover, the project will bring great outcomes if everyone is part of the moment in our student’s history. That is why is essential and imperative that the administration, as well as faculty, a...

A Preface to a Creative Line - A warm up activity that will be suitable to every grade every student

A Preface to a Creative Line A Preface to a Creative Line - A warm-up activity that will be suitable for every grade and every student On many occasions, my students, when newly arrive at my classes, their feelings towards ‘art’ in general, are quite cold and almost hurtful, unkind, and sometimes unpleasant.   Of course, with the exception of those students owning already have a heart for the arts. However, all those feelings are just based on unawareness, previous poor teaching, and very little or no exposure to the world of creativity and visual expression, the plastic (moldable) arts. In any different way in which my students arrive, quiet, loud, timid, short or tall, fast thinkers or slow takers, I welcome them all with the magic of the free line and colors; with the free form given by one energy and impulses. Activity:   The Line of Thought    Organize your space in a way students have a good free space in between each other.   They...
