STEAM - With Science

From Science

Students are to learn

About

microorganism
(from the Greek: μικρός, mikros,
"small" and ὀργανισμός, organismós, "organism")
is a microscopic living organism,
which may be single-celled or multicellular.

We research to see

the living form and its beauty.

Look closer with an inquisitive mind

and alert brain

Students sketch ideas and present the final sketch
The story behind the microorganism, accompanied by color patterns, is to be approved or discussed during a class presentation to learn about any changes that need to be made.

Students draw idea using 34' x 20' white paper and pencils

Students select media from colored pencils, oil pastels, or watercolors

Students understand the importance of designing by using space and form balance, harmony, organization, and unity.

Students' creativity should be demonstrated not only by the use of 'Micro Art' but also by the use of media and materials.

Students use a simple form that helps to recognize how they have manipulated the elements within their work.

Learning Color with The Masters - The Opposite or Complementary Colors

Applying one Layer at a time Color by color and layer by layer, students craft their work. My student chooses a work from the Masters of Impressionism, and it will go this way: 1. The student prepares the canvas using Gesso to seal and prime the canvas before the oil is applied. The gesso should be toned down; this way, the canvas doesn't lose its texture, and the oil will run smoothly. Also will protect the canvas from deterioration; the oil will ruin the canvas quite fast if it has not been primed. 2. The student draws the artwork carefully, soft lines divide each color and each object. Students are not allowed to use a grid; they only find the middle point by drawing an "X"  across the canvas, then drawing. It is very important to learn to look closer, to see the distance and locations correctly, to conquer and own the space and what lives in it.  3. Look closer to the color wheel. Students look at the colors with caution, making note of h...

A Preface to a Creative Line - A warm up activity that will be suitable to every grade every student

A Preface to a Creative Line A Preface to a Creative Line - A warm-up activity that will be suitable for every grade and every student Students on many occasions, when newly arrived at my Art classes, show negative feelings and little or not interest towards any manuality or freehand visual experience. Demonstrating cold, sometimes sinic expressions and unoleassent beahavior.  Except for those students who already have a heart for the arts. Surprisingly, the art class can move slowly and may be difficult.  However, all those feelings are just based on unawareness, fear of ownself capacities and potential, previous poor teaching, and very little or no exposure to the world of creativity and visual expression, the plastic (moldable) arts. It doesn’t matter if students arrive quiet, loud, timid, short or tall, fast thinkers or lacking self-confidence, they must be all welcome to experience the magic of the free line and colors, the amazing feeling of making visual displays ca...
